Concerning Role-Playing:
First and most importantly: Please, no God-modding. Please click on the link if you do not know what God-modding is. It is considered rude and obnoxious, and should be avoided at all costs. If we see that you have been God-modding, we will give you a warning. If you continue to do so, you shall be banned.
Second, your posts should be substantial. One or two lines will not be accepted, and you will be asked to make it longer. We do not ask that you write a novel, but do not write anything that is less than one paragraph, or six lines. Your fellow players need something to go off of, and it will be hard for them if they only have one or two lines for reference.
Third, please be literate. Abbreviations such as omg, lol, and gmta (great minds think alike) are for informal chat only. You are expected to spell out the entire word when you are writing a post, with exceptions such as NASA, CIA, FBI, etc. You do not have to be a master of the English language, but please, put some effort into it.
Fourth, there is a time-limit to how long you can go without posting. You should post at least once within a two-week period. More often than that would be wonderful, but that is the minimum. If you do not post anything after that two-week period, we will have to come check on you. Remember that signing up for a character here means that you have the time and willingness to play that character and come here regularly. If you find that you cannot handle that responsibility, you must let us know, so that others who want your character(s) can come claim him/her/them.
Fifth, the "role-play world" is for historical role-plays, where the characters are countries. They are not to be referred to by their human names here. The role-plays in that section should be history-based ONLY. The "Real World" is for human role-plays, where the characters are humans, not countries. No historical role-plays should occur in this section.
Concerning Behavior:
You are expected to be polite and courteous to others. If the character you play is rude and obnoxious (like, say, Prussia or Korea), then by all means, have them be rude and obnoxious. But while out of character and talking to people as yourself, you are expected to play nicely. Insults and/or threats will not be tolerated, and may result in getting yourself banned.
Please keep in mind that this is the internet, and that the people you are talking to cannot see you. They cannot hear you speaking, and they cannot see your facial expressions. This makes it much harder for them to pick out the difference between sarcasm and sincerity. They cannot tell if you are joking or not, which means that you need to think about what you are saying before you say it, and consider how it will sound to the person(s) you are talking to.
Concerning Characters:
You may start out with only one character. You will not be allowed a second character until you've posted in-character at least 20 times in regular time period (meaning, you have posted with your character(s) at least once within a two-week period, thirty times). This does not include out-of-character posts, such as introductions, activity checks, or plot debates.
You may be allowed a third character after you have posted in-character at least 60 times in a regular time period. If you wish you apply for a third character after that 60 post mark, contact the admin and we will figure out if it would be a good idea or not. You are allowed a maximum of 3 characters.
Original characters are allowed (ex. Mexico), but only characters of existing countries. Please, no OCs for the American states or other provinces or made-up countries. Existing countries only, such as Ireland, Scotland, Mexico, Portugal, etc. No characters of Maine, New York, Quebec, Berlin, etc. They are not countries.
Gender-bends (ex. female!England) are not allowed.
Note: The "I got here first" rule is not applied here. If someone has already reserved a character that you wanted, feel free to reserve that character as well. The person with the best grasp on the character will be given said character.
To sum everything up simplistically:
No God-modding; in-character posts must be at least one paragraph (6 lines) long; use good grammar; play nicely; you may start out with only one character, then gradually work up to two (maximum is 3 characters); OCs are allowed, and gender-bends are not.
